What is Special Operations Command?
SOC is a realism-focused MARSOC-inspired milsim community built on Arma Reforger. The command trains and deploys through persistent, story-driven campaigns.
Is SOC affiliated with the real military?
No. SOC is an independent hobby community. It is not affiliated with the U.S. Marine Corps, MARSOC, the Department of Defense, or any government agency.
What do I need to play?
You must own Arma Reforger and use Discord. No paid DLC or additional external software is required.
Is SOC cross-platform?
Yes. PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players may apply.
Do I need prior Arma or milsim experience?
No. Experienced players are a current priority, especially leaders and Game Masters. Mature, teachable candidates with less experience may also apply.
What is the minimum age?
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Is a microphone required?
Yes. A reliable microphone and active communication are required.
What is the expected commitment?
SOC operates on a one-month training cycle followed by a two-month deployment. Deployment normally includes two to three operations each week plus a team training night.
How difficult is training?
Training is demanding. Candidates are instructed before they are assessed. Graduation requires consistent performance, communication, discipline, and teamwork.
Can I apply for leadership or Game Master positions?
Yes. Command officers, ground leaders, and Game Masters are current recruiting priorities. Experienced candidates may be interviewed and asked to demonstrate their ability.
Can I choose an element?
Candidates may state their preferences. Final placement considers performance, suitability, available positions, and command needs.
How long does application review take?
Applications are reviewed within 24 to 48 hours.
