Your role in the operation.
An operation depends on more than the team at the objective. It needs transportation, security, responsive reinforcement, coordinated fires, and supplies that reach the people who need them. 1st Marine Raider Support Battalion carries those responsibilities into the field.
As a support Marine, you have an assignment to prepare for, a team to work with, and a part of the operation to deliver. You may attach to a Raider team or operate with a separate support element. Your readiness and judgment affect what the task force can accomplish.
Operational responsibilities
Take responsibility for a part of the mission.
Ground transportation
Get the force where it needs to be.
Prepare and operate the ground transportation that moves personnel and supplies. Coordinate with the supported element and keep the movement connected to the wider operation.
Security & blocking positions
Give the team room to work.
Provide external building security and cover assigned positions while other elements carry out their tasks. Attention, communication, and discipline matter throughout the assignment.
Quick reaction support
Be ready when you are needed.
Prepare to reinforce the force when tasked. A QRF assignment demands readiness and restraint: stay informed, maintain your team's preparedness, and respond to direction as the situation develops.
Fires & sustainment
Keep the operation supported.
Contribute to fires support and the flow of supplies according to your qualifications and assignment. Understand what the supported teams need and coordinate with the people providing it.
On deployment
A task of your own. A force counting on you.
Brief with an assignment, coordinate with the supported teams, and deploy ready to carry it out. You may work alongside Raiders or with a separate support element. The mission determines where your capabilities are needed.
Your work has a visible result: a team reaches its destination, receives its supplies, or gets the reinforcement it called for. Anticipate requirements, pass useful information, and follow through.
